U3A's North West Region comprises U3A groups in Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside.
Each U3A region nominates members to serve on the NEC (National Executive Committee) for a period of three years, thereby ensuring that no significant part of the UK is left without a regional representative. This allows U3A members from all parts of the UK to be involved in the work of the NEC.
The North West Region includes a large number of local U3As thereby enabling larger events to be organised for the benefit of members. Typically it is the 'Region' that organises Summer Schools and Study days, opening these events to a much larger membership.
