Friday Walking: A group for those who enjoy slightly more demanding walking, including the scenic upland areas of North Wales, the Peak District and the Shropshire hills. Members take turns to organize and lead walks on the first Friday of the month. Winter walks are usually 6 to 8 miles, with longer/more ambitious all-day walks of up to 10 or 12 miles, depending on terrain, in the summer. Some hills and occasional rocky or boggy stretches have to be expected, so boots, waterproofs and a reasonable level of fitness are essential. Walk descriptions will be circulated by email. Walks are on the first Friday of the month.
